Terms & Conditions

If your machine is under warranty (for most machines, this is typically a 1-2-year window; do your research if you have concerns), the warranty will be void when Rifle & Hive performs maintenance.  If this is important to you, please check the status of your warranty with your dealer or distributor before authorizing Rifle & Hive to carry out the specified servicing. Rifle & Hive is NOT responsible for any damage sustained to your machine for any reason, or any issues with your voided warranty.

By agreeing to retain the services of Rifle & Hive, you confirm acknowledgment and agreement with the Terms of Service and Limits of Liability. You understand that failures or breakages may occur during, or after the service provided by Rifle & Hive and may not hold Rifle & Hive responsible for additional costs to correct these new issues.

When bringing your machine in for service, please be prepared to leave the following items in the possession of Rifle & Hive:
* sewing machine with cover, if you have one
* foot pedal and power cord
* bobbin case and bobbin
* all purpose presser foot
* general sewing throat plate

Turn-around for machine servicing is 1-2 weeks.
General service charges, excluding applicable sales tax are:

$110 standard sewing machine general review and thorough cleaning

$140 sewing machines with more complex issues or computer screens. Computer issues will not be addressed. Computer issues should be reviewed with a brand specific dealer.

$150 overlock machines

Estimates for repair (machines that are seized up, broken gears, etc.) begin at $200, and do not include the cost of parts

Housecalls can be arranged for additional fee, depending on your proximity to Industry City, Brooklyn, or Midtown Manhattan

Machines should be collected after notification of service completion or if deemed non-repairable. Notifications will be sent when the machine is ready, with follow-up reminders via phone, email, or text. Unless otherwise arranged, machines must be picked up within 10 days of notification. Starting from the first business day after 15 days, a $25 storage fee per machine will be added to the total due at pickup, and an additional $5 per business day thereafter. Rifle & Hive is not responsible for any damage incurred if left after 30 days. Machines uncollected 60 days after initial notification will be considered abandoned and become the property of Rifle & Hive, which reserves the right to sell or donate them.
